— THE PROCEDURE
How dental implants are placed in Barrie, step by step
Most patients are surprised by how straightforward dental implant treatment actually is. The total timeline runs 2 to 6 months from start to finish but the time you will actually spend in our chair is far shorter. The bulk of that timeline is your jawbone quietly doing the work of bonding with the implant.
When clinically needed, we begin with a 3D CBCT scan of your jaw, the same imaging technology used in oral surgery worldwide. Then we surgically place a small titanium post into the bone, where it integrates over a few months in a process called osseointegration. Once the bond is solid, we attach a custom porcelain crown that matches your other teeth in shape, shade, and feel.
For full-arch restoration, we offer All-On-X with four to six implants. When bone volume is insufficient, bone grafting, often paired with Plasma Rich in Growth Factors (PRGF) to support healing and lower the risk of rejection, precedes the implant. The extraction-to-implant timeline is coordinated with tooth extraction when the failed tooth is still present.
