This is the story of how a dream born in Baghdad became a dental home for thousands of families in Barrie.
A dentist with one conviction
Akeel Al-Dabboos left the University of Baghdad with a degree in dental surgery and a clear idea of the work he wanted to do. He didn't only want to fix teeth. He wanted to give people a reason to smile, even in hard times.
General practice
Years of general practice in the quiet city of Al-Ain, helping people get their smile, and their confidence, back.
6,800 km from home. A fresh start.
Dr. Akeel moved his family across the world to Canada (a new home), and began the process of qualifying to practice in Canada. One belief came with him: everyone who walks through the door deserves to feel comfortable, heard, and cared for. No exceptions.
Most people would have stopped there
Twenty years into his career, with a busy practice and hundreds of loyal patients, Dr. Akeel went back to school. He completed his DMD at the University of British Columbia, class 2013. His patients deserved his best, and that meant keeping his knowledge current.
If there is a better way to do it, I want to learn it. My patients are worth it.
A new home
Dr. Akeel took over an established practice on Livingstone Street. It has been home ever since.

A Dental Office is now a team of 10 offering 32 services, from sedation for anxious patients to full smile restorations. Ask anyone here what matters most and you will get the same answer: a patient walking out smiling, really smiling, is the reason for all of it.
