THE PROCEDURE
Four implants, an entire arch held
All-On-X is a clinical concept developed in the 1990s and refined since. Instead of placing one implant per missing tooth, we place four to six titanium implants strategically across the arch and connect a full-arch fixed bridge on top. The math works because of how forces distribute when implants are angled into denser bone areas.
The whole upper arch, lower arch, or both is replaced in essentially one surgical day. You leave the clinic with a temporary fixed prosthesis in place the same day or the day after, then on a soft food diet. Three to four months later, after the implants fully osseointegrate, the temporary is replaced with the final zirconia, porcelain or acrylic prosthesis, based on your needs and cost.
All-On-X often follows or replaces traditional dentures when patients want fixed teeth. Some cases require bone grafting or a sinus lift first to ensure adequate bone, and the surgery is typically performed under IV sedation.
- Four to six implants instead of one per tooth
- Temporary fixed prosthesis the same day or the day after
- Final zirconia, porcelain or acrylic prosthesis at 3-4 months, based on your needs and cost
- 3D-guided surgical planning before any incision
